Meet the Team

My name is Madeline Kraut, and I am a Licensed Master Social Worker in the state of Idaho. I am a practicing mental health professional, and I designed this space to share insights for improving mental wellness, informed by my personal mental health journey, the wisdom of my clients, and my education as a masters level social worker.

As a therapist, I take a warm and empathetic approach, coupled with education and empowerment for my clients to feel confident in making the changes necessary for their thriving. Working hard to create a sense of safety in the therapeutic alliance is my highest priority.

I founded Blue Jay Therapy in 2025 out of a desire to work with clients in a collaborative and empowering way. The namesake comes from my love for nature and its restorative power. I am a local to North Idaho, and it was only natural for me to incorporate the beauty of this region in my practice.

My website and podcast were borne out of a desire to have a creative outlet coupled with my passion for educating others on topics that can be life-changing, like the tenets of emotional maturity. I believe that access to the basics of mental wellness is a human right, and I understand that not everyone is able to access quality mental health care. This is a space attempting to bridge that gap. I look forward to connecting with you along this journey of creativity, courage, and authenticity. Thanks for being here.

When I'm not working, I enjoy reading, sharing good food with friends, exploring beautiful places with my husband, and snuggling on the couch with our sweet rescue dog, Ranger.
Ranger is an Irish Setter Great Pyrenees mix. He is a rescue, and he joined the Kraut family in January 2025. He is currently in training as a Therapy Dog and will be fully certified by the end of 2025.
Ranger is a gentle giant and brings a sense of comfort and grounding to therapy sessions. For more information on how Therapy Dogs assist clients, this article is a great resource.
